the largest gathering of fans of Japanese culture in Portugal!

the largest gathering of fans of Japanese culture in Portugal!

Nelson Esteves began his journey into the world of Japanese animation in his younger years, when he was still living in Portugal and discovered the great classics of animation, immersing himself in the culture through regular reading of a leading French magazine, Animeland.

In 2002, he moved to Paris to fully live out his passion, as France offers exceptional richness in this field. A few years later, he launched a blog, Jikan Project, which allowed him to make himself known and create a small community of over 12,000 followers and to meet most of the players in the market.

In 2017, he had the opportunity to start writing articles for Animeland magazine, which had marked his first steps in this field 20 years earlier. In 2019, he was invited to join a team whose goal was to create a publishing house. In 2021, they officially created their publishing house, TANUKO. Their first film will be released at the end of 2023.

This journey reflects his ongoing passion and commitment to Japanese animation, and he is proud to contribute to this universe as a writer, blogger and now an active member of the industry.

Nelson Esteves will be present at Iberanime with the conference Journey into the world of Japanese animation, where he will discuss his journey in the market, the reality of Portugal and France in the world of anime, how he founded his publishing house TANUKO, and various interesting facts that you will want to know, such as how to purchase licences or how to negotiate with Japan.

We’re counting on you!
