Rika Matsumoto is a Japanese actress, voice actress, and singer born in Yokohama, Japan, best known for her role as Ash Ketchum, the original main character of the Pokémon anime series.
After starting out on stage, she began a career as a voice actress and singer, taking on other notable roles such as Ryo Bakura in Yu-Gi-Oh, Midori Kodama in Azuki Chan, and Aoi Futaba in You’re Under Arrest. Matsumoto also performs the songs for many of the Pokémon opening themes.
Matsumoto has had leading or supporting roles in dozens of series. She also had a radio show in Japan and does some dubbing work for translations of American films and television series into Japanese. She was also one of the founders of the anison band JAM Project.
And she will be at Iberanime to delight all Pokémon fans, but not only them!
