At Iberanime Porto 2025, you will have the rare opportunity to meet and learn from Hamano Ryuho, one of the great living masters of Japanese calligraphy (shodō).

With over half a century dedicated to this art, Hamano Ryuho was born in Fukui, Japan, and was a disciple of the renowned calligrapher Fukuse Gaki. He studied the classical styles of Japanese calligraphy in depth and, on a study trip to China, specialised in tenkoku, the art of seals. Today, he continues to live in Japan, but travels the world sharing the beauty and spirituality of his strokes, which unite tradition, the present and the future.
