Megaera (Egg) has always enjoyed photographing cosplayers, and as the community grows, so do her photographs. Recently graduated with a master’s degree in photography, Megaera challenges perceptions of cosplay through her images.
A cosplayer for over a decade, and now working as a pop culture journalist, Holly (Olly) has kept this ship sailing over the past few years. Although she quickly discovered the steep learning curve involved in creating and managing The Cosplay Journal, she wouldn’t change it for the world.
The Cosplay Journal is a UK-based cosplay magazine dedicated to showcasing what it means to be a cosplayer. Beyond the sewing machine and glue gun, there is a community full of creative, inspiring, and truly individual people from all walks of life. To understand cosplay, you have to understand the people behind it.
At Iberanime, Egg and Olly will discuss the origins and evolution of cosplay with the panel ‘The History of Cosplay.’
