The Japanese artist who sang “BLOODY STREAM” and “Fighting Gold,” two of the opening themes for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.

CODA is the stage name by which Kazusou Oda is known in the world of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. A Japanese singer, songwriter, guitarist, and music producer, he has built a career that spans rock, songwriting, and music production, gaining international recognition through his involvement in one of the most iconic anime series in Japanese pop culture.

Born on January 17, 1980, in Hiroshima, Japan, Kazusou Oda grew up surrounded by music, influenced by his father, a music teacher. From an early age, he was exposed to instruments such as the piano, trumpet, and recorder, receiving a classical music education. This foundation shaped his artistic development and contributed to a career marked by composition and performance.

From No Regret Life to a Solo Career

In 2001, he founded the Japanese band No Regret Life, in which he served as lead vocalist and guitarist, writing most of the group’s lyrics and music. The band made its major-label debut in 2005 through Sony Music Associated Records.

By the time the band disbanded in July 2013, No Regret Life had released five full-length albums, four EPs, and seven singles.

Alongside his work with the band, Kazusou Oda began pursuing a solo career around 2011, exploring a musical approach centered on performance and composition. In 2010, he also founded the independent label spiral-motion, initially dedicated to the band’s own work and later expanded to include the production and management of other musical projects.

Throughout his career, he has worked in the fields of composition, songwriting, arrangements, sound production, and live musical accompaniment, collaborating with various artists and projects.
